Dead Reckoning - SL869-3DR

SL869-3DR MODR™

The embedded 7-DOF (Degree Of Freedom) MEMS sensors in conjunction with Telit’s MoDR (MEMS-only Dead Reckoning) technology and ARM9-based GNSS quad-constellation core provide the developer with an unparalleled autonomous DR turn-key solution, delivering reliable PVT data whenever GNSS coverage is compromised, without the need to connect the device to vehicle sensors like "wheel tick" or “reverse engaged”.

In terms of overall accuracy, autonomous DR falls between standard GNSS and Automotive Dead Reckoning (using "wheel tick" or any other input from the car).

Module Concept

The Jupiter SL869-3DR is equipped with Telit MoDR™ (MEMS-only Dead Reckoning) navigation software combined with an internal 7-DOF MEMS suite: 6-axis inertial sensor (3 axis accelerometer + 3 axis gyroscope) and a pressure sensor. This expertly-engineered solution improves accuracy and mitigates position drifts and errors that are caused by a signal multipath effect in dense urban canyons and in obstructed situations like parking garages, trees, foliage.

The SL869-3DR is pin-to-pin compatible with its companion products: SL869-V3 (pure GNSS) and SL869-ADR (Automotive DR).

Key Features

  • Requires only power and antenna connections to deliver accurate PVT data from the GNSS core or, when satellite signal is compromised, from the MoDR™ engine.
  • Expertly designed MEMS sensor array and Telit MoDR™ technology improve accuracy and usefulness of tracking devices whether in use under open sky or in the most challenging satellite reception conditions
